Open Chess Tournament

We’re back at the Macedonian Community Hall!

Style:           6 round Swiss in 5 sections:  Open/FIDE rated (including U2300 section), U2200, U2000, U1800, U1600/UNR

 Rounds:        11:00 AM & 5:30 PM Saturday, 10 AM and 4:30 PM Sunday and Monday

 Time Control:  40/2, SD/1

 Registration:  9:00-10:30 AM on Saturday, August 30th

Registrants after 10:30 are not guaranteed to be paired by 11:00 AM

Email registration to bryan.lamb@rogers.com.  Email registrants must arrive onsite before 10:30 to pay or will be charged the onsite fee.

Entry Fees:  $70 advance, $80 cash only on site  AMATEUR:  $25 (Under 1800 and Under 1600 sections – not eligible for cash prizes)

Discounts:    $20 less for Juniors (born after Sept.1, 1988), Seniors (60 and older), Women, and IM’s.   No discount for Amateur players; only one discount per player.

Byes:            Maximum of 2 in rounds 1-5.

Players must be a current members of the Chess Federation of Canada for the duration of the tournament.  Membership renewal, new membership and tournament membership payments will be accepted upon registration or before the start of the tournament.
